Minister of Road Transport and Highways Sanctioned RS.1742.11 crore for 4-lane Road in Mizoram
The construction of the N. Kawnpui (N. Maulvum)-Sairang portion of the 4-lane road on NH6, which runs along the Silchar-Valrengte-Sairang road in the Mizoram districts of Aizawl and Kolasib, has received approval from Nitin Gadkary, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, for RS.1742.11 crore. As a component of the national highway – North East project, the 24.41 km project will be carried out using the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) approach. The goal of the road infrastructure is to provide uninterrupted traffic flow while avoiding local traffic interruption in the developed region. By reducing traffic in metropolitan areas, this program aims to improve road safety in this densely populated area.
In addition, the strategic project aims to avoid densely populated areas and reduce traffic. to improve traffic safety in the city of Aizawl. further aims to shorten the current national route from Vairengte to Sairang by 25 kilometers.
