The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has chosen to employ porous concrete in the construction of park walkways, pavements, and other public spaces in order to facilitate a higher recharge of subterranean aquifers. According to GHMC commissioner Ronald Rose gave the officials the go-ahead to construct footpaths using the porous concrete blocks on a trial basis. Rainwater can permeate porous concrete, ensuring groundwater replenishment. If it is successful, it might be a significant development in metropolitan areas where bitumen and concrete are prevalent, these stop water from penetrating through and replenishing the aquifers. Rainwater Harvesting Serves the same Purpose but it hasn’t been used extensively
