Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a video on X featuring the development of India’s first Ballastless track system, which is being created for the bullet train project that would connect Ahmedabad and Mumbai. The minister disclosed that noteworthy advancements had been made with the Bullet Train, which features a 320 kmph speed barrier. 153 km of viaducts and 295.5 km of piers have already been completed, according to Mr. Vaishnaw. On his X account, he shared a video of the same song along with the caption, “Bharat’s first Ballastless track for Bullet Train.” speed limit of 320 kmph, viaduct length of 153 km, and pier work of 295.5 km finished. There will be more in Modi 3.0. For high-speed lines, Ballastless track, sometimes known as “slab track,” is becoming more and more common in several nations. Significantly, this is India’s first usage of the J-slab Ballastless track technology. Pre-cast track slabs with carefully thought-out rails and fastening mechanisms comprise the cutting-edge track system. This slab is supported by the RC track bed for separate UP and Down rail lines on the viaduct top. The RC track bed is around 300 mm thick. According to National High-Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL), the RC track bed’s width of 2420 mm ensures stability. An approximate of ₹ 1.08 lakh crore is required, of which the Centre is expected to contribute ₹ 10,000 crore and Gujarat and Maharashtra ₹ 5,000 crore apiece. A loan from Japan will be used to obtain the remaining funds.
