NTPC approves an investment of Rs 80,000 crore for thermal power plants

NTPC’s board has given the green light to investment proposals amounting to around Rs 80,000 crore for thermal power projects that will have a total capacity of 6,400 MW. The Telangana Super Thermal Power Project, Phase-II (3×800 MW), which is anticipated to cost Rs 29,344.85 crore, is one of the approved projects. Additionally, the Gadarwara Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-II (2×800 MW), worth an estimated Rs 20,445.69 crore, was authorised by the board. The Stage II (3×800 MW) Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project was also authorised. The estimated cost is Rs 29,947.91 crore. As of September 30, the NTPC Group’s installed power generating capacity had grown from 73,824 MW to 76,443 MW.
